Designed for apartment number 50 in Le Courbusier's "Cité Radieuse" in Marseille, the aesthetics of the Phare Lamp focused on the idea of creating a fully recyclable product that becomes a versatile everyday companion. one that could match the style of the landmark and improve the daily comfort of its residents.
While the building's flat roof meets social needs, it lacks built-in lighting. The Phare lamp offers a solution here: light and easy to transport, the design and materials are inspired by the roof structure of the Cité Radieuse. The lamp's globe/shade is made of aluminum and is 100% recyclable, durable and lightweight. It is made of injected plastic and provides long-term durability and safety (for both the lamp and the user). The design is the result of a reduction process that added all the necessary parts without adding too much. By omitting superfluous or decorative elements, it only receives its formal language through its function.
Phare transforms into a daily companion that can be freely placed, hung or taken outside as long as conditions are dry as needed. Whether standing or hanging, Phare is not a lamp that can only be used in one place, but is known for its versatility. The simple, good taste and composition suits all residences - from Le Corbusier's furnishings to a modern urban apartment, Phare stands in contrast to the planned obsolescence of products intended to serve and live longer.
Important Usage Notes: To keep the internal battery healthy, only leave the Phare lamp connected while charging with the lamp turned off. Do not leave the device plugged in during use.
