Copenhagen-based design studio Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen investigated how a picture or painting can be framed, exploring how an entire frame can surround a mirror without compromising the beauty and reflection of the glass. The result is Nimbus, a refreshingly simple mirror made from bronzed brass and light-reflecting glass that defines a room with its calming and sophisticated round shape. A mirror is not just purely functional: since ancient times, they have reflected the style of a time - framed by ornate baroque flourishes or Gothic arches and the simple lines of the Bauhaus movement. Audo's latest version brings the basics of the mirror into the modern era, but with a mythological twist referenced in the name: In Greek mythology, Nimbus was a luminous cloud, or corona, that often surrounded a deity on Earth.
